Elle
Elle bakes all morning in Mount Pleasant and turns into a dinner room at four. Its $65 Restaurant Week menu starts everyone with fresh sourdough and cultured butter for the table, then asks for one choice from each of three sections: butterhead lettuce salad, smashed cucumber with kraut and cured salmon, or heirloom tomato panzanella; stewed chickpea, a fried chicken cutlet with vin cotto and pecorino, or a swordfish kabob; then flourless chocolate pistachio torte, champagne mango sorbet or honey goat cheesecake. Book early, because Elle serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday only and its Restaurant Week runs August 25 to 29.
