Love, Makoto

Chef Makoto Okuwa's food hall runs two Restaurant Week tracks under one roof: a $35 Dear Sushi omakase moving through sakura tai snapper and bluefin tuna nigiri, and a $55 Beloved BBQ yakiniku omakase grilling Wagyu hanger steak and Black Angus bistro filet tableside. Both close with a mango yuzu creamsicle, and the run extends through September 6.

Good Deal on Beloved BBQ's own wagyu list a single A5 strip loin is $67 and the tenderloin is $85, so the $55 dinner omakase costs less than one of those cuts and adds bone broth and dessert. At lunch, Dear Sushi prices two-piece nigiri at $12 to $20, and the $35 omakase includes five pieces plus a snack course, a hand roll and dessert. Here’s how we calculate it.
